Analisis Kesulitan Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Cerita Matematika
This problem was discovered by researchers while running campus teaching program activities at SD Negeri 123 Pekanbaru. When conducting mathematics learning in class V, researchers found that there were still many students who could not solve math problems with story problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the difficulties experienced by grade V students at SD Negeri 123 Pekanbaru when solving math story problems. This research model is descriptive qualitative research. The data collection used written test questions in the form of math story questions and interviews. Data is analyzed by reducing the data obtained, then presented into narrative form. The conclusion of this study is that the difficulty of solving math story problems is experienced by students with high mathematical ability (KMT), students with medium mathematical ability (KMS), and students with low mathematical ability (KMR). Students with high mathematical ability (KMT) dominate experiencing principle difficulties, where students cannot determine the right formula and are wrong in calculating. In students with moderate mathematical ability (KMS) principle difficulties also dominate, but some of them also have difficulty conceptualizing and difficulty solving verbal problems. In students with low mathematical ability (KMR) all subjects experience conceptual, principle and verbal difficulties, this difficulty is experienced by KMR subjects on each story problem presented by the researcher.
