Pengaruh Kenaikan Nilai Effective Alkali Terhadap Laju Penguapan Weak Black Liquor Pada Unit Evaporator #2
ABSTRACT
Black liquor is a by-product of the remaining cooking solution in the Paper industry, which is a high viscosity organic alkaline mixture which contains water, lignin, cellulose, and inorganic sodium salts. Weak Black Liquor or WBL obtained from pulp washing generally contains 15-16% solid content. This WBL must be concentrated up to 80-82% or commonly called firing liquor and then sent to the recovery boiler to be burned. The unit used to increase the black liquor concentration is called the evaporator unit. This observation aims to determine and analyze the effect of increasing the effective alkali (EA) value on the evaporation rate of Weak Black Liquor in the evaporator unit # 2 of PT. RAPP as well as to determine the effect of increasing the effective value of alkali on scaling in the evaporator unit # 2. Parameter data collected is used to analyze the effect of increasing the effective value of alkali on the evaporator. The parameters needed to analyze the effect of increasing the effective value of alkali on the evaporator are the effective value of alkali in black liquor (GPL), the value of water evaporated, selisih temperature black liquor dan steam PF 1, Heater 2, 3, 5 and Heater 6 In this observation, the actual EA values ranged from 5-7 gpl. The desired target EA value for evaporator operation is
