ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the level of costs and income of independent oil palm farming on peat land in Sumber Jaya Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency. This research was motivated by the lack of knowledge of oil palm farmers in Sumber Jaya Village regarding the importance of oil palm production factors on peatlands, the research used primary and secondary data, the analytical methods used in this study were descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The population in this study were all independent oil palm smallholders in Sumber Jaya Village, totaling 280 people. Sampling using the slovin formula. The number of samples is 74 respondents. The sampling technique is probability sampling. The data collection technique is in the form of a questionnaire. The results of this study indicate that the cost of self-supporting oil palm farming on peat land in Sumber Jaya Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency is an average of Rp. 2.741,905 per year, while the income of independent oil palm farming on peat land in Sumber Jaya Village, Siak Kecil District, Bengkalis Regency averages Rp. 45.605.122., per year. This shows that planting oil palm independently on peatlands will also provide maximum income for farmers if farmers pay more attention to production factors.
