Biodiversitas Zooplankton Di Lima Danau Kawasan Perkotaan Cibinong, Kabupaten Bogor
ABSTRACT
Zooplankton are widely distributed in aquatic ecosystems. Their community structure and distribution are influenced by both abiotic factors such as temperature, pH, DO, depth, and chlorophyll-a, and biotic factors such as fitoplankton and fish communities. Zooplankton are sensitive to environmental changes, as such they are widely used as bioindicator for water quality and ecosystem health. The study of zooplankton biodiversity and its relationship with environmental conditions in several lakes in urban area of Cibinong, Bogor Regency in West Java – Indonesia, has been conducted. Zooplankton sample were collected form five urban lakes by filtering twenty liters of water using a 53 μm plankton net. Prior to analysis, samples were preserved in lugol. Identification and enumeration of zooplankton were performed under a compound microscope using a Sedgewick rafter counting chamber. A total of 16 species from three groups of zooplankton have been identified from all observed lakes, which include 13 rotifers, 2 cladocerans, and 1 copepods, for a total of 3.492, 136, and 1.632 ind/L, respectively. Total density of zooplankton ranged from 282 to 1.952 ind/L with the highest density was observed in Situ Citatah with density of 1.952 ind/L. Shannon diversity index (H’) ranged from 0,43-0.76 while the evenness index ranged from 0.39-0.69. The study results indicate that urban lake contains low zooplankton diversity. The water condition is considered suitable to support zooplankton in providing natural foods for fish larvae.
