ABSTRACT
This study aimed to determine, a) the effect of the variables of labor, government spending, population growth, and investment on economic growth in Riau Province in the years 2010-2020; b) the most dominant variable affecting economic growth in Riau Province in 2010-2020. This research method is descriptive quantitative. This research was conducted in the Province of Riau using data from the Central Bureau of Statistics for the Province of Riau from 2010–2020. Data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of SPSS software version 24.0. The results showed, a) the labor variable (X1) is known to have a t count < t table of -0.227 < 2.200 and a significance value of 0.825 > 0.05, meaning that labor does not affect economic growth; b) government spending (X2) is known to have a t count > t table of 3.981 > 2.200 and a significance value of 0.003 < 0.05, then government spending affects economic growth; c) population growth (X3), it is known that the value of t arithmetic > t table is 2.292 > 2.200 and a significance value of 0.045 < 0.05, meaning that population growth affects economic growth; d) investment (X4) is known to have a t count < t table of 0.276 < 2,200 and a significance value of 0.788 > 0.05, so investment does not affect economic growth; e) the most dominant variable influencing economic growth in Riau Province in 2006-2020 is the government expenditure variable.
