Analisis Isi Lambung Ikan Alu - Alu (Sphyraena Spp) Dari Perairan Sibolga

ABSTRACT
Sphyraena spp commonly found in the Sibolga waters. This research aims to determine the type of food present in the stomach of that fish. The fish was sampled 3 times, twice/month, from May-July 2022. There are 2 types of Sphyraena found in Sibolga waters, namely S. putnamae and S. obtusatta. There were 172 (154 males and 18 females) of S.putnamae and 73 ( 49 males and 24 females) of S.obtusatta. The fish was dissected and the stomach was removed. The stomach content was analyzed and each type of food was weighed (a gravimetric method). The stomach content was analyzed as a basis to calculate the Preponderance Index (PI). Results showed that the main food of S. putnamae and S. obtusatta was similar. In this fish, the main food was small fishes (PI 82%), the complementary food was crustacean (PI 5%), and unidentified food (PI 13%). In S.obtusatta, the main food was fish (PI 70%), the complementary food was crustacean (PI 11%), and unidentified food (PI 19%). Based on data obtained, Sphyraena spp can be categorized as carnivore.
