Analisis Pengaruh Ukuran Partikel Zeolit Dan Waktu Pengendapan Terhadap Kualitas Oli Bekas Hasil Pemurnian Dan Emisi Gas Buang Yang Dihasilkan Dari Mesin Diesel Modifikasi
ABSTRACT
Used oil waste has become one of the environmental issues that needs to be swiftly and accurately addressed. Used oil contains considerable energy and still holds potential as an alternative fuel for diesel engines. One of the methods for processing used oil involves the acid and clay technique. This study focuses on purification using the acid and clay method, with variations in zeolite particle size of 0,106 mm, 0,098 mm, and 0,090 mm, and settling time for 12 hours, 24 hours, and 36 hours. Refined used fuel oil will be tested for its characteristics against density, specific gravity, viscosity, moisture content, and calorific value, as well as the resulting exhaust emissions. The results showed that the fuel with particle size of 0,090 mm and settling time fot 36 hours is the best variation that meets the standard quality specifications for diesel fuel based on Director General of Oil and Gas Decree 146.K/10/DJM/2020 on Standards and Specifications for Domestic Market Petroleum Fuels and Regulation of the State Minister of Environment Number 5 of 2006 concerning Exhaust Gas Emission Thresholds of Old Motor Vehicles. The density value obtained is 869,66 kg/m3, specific gravity is 0,8697, viscosity is 1,6371 mm2/s, water content is 43,026 mg/kg, and calorific value is 50.637 kJ/Kg. While in the exhaust emission test CO emissions are 0,030%, CO2 is 4,74%, HC is 15 ppm, and opacity is 3%.
