Optimasi Produksi Selulosa Dari Kultur Campuran Bakteri Asal Daging Buah Pisang, Nanas, Dan Durian Menggunakan Limbah Cair Sagu Dan Sukrosa
ABSTRACT
Natural cellulose can be synthesized by microorganisms using a static method through the fermentation process of sago liquid waste and sucrose which produces biopolymers in the form of cellulose pellicles. This study aimed to optimize cellulose production by mixed bacterial cultures originating from durian, banana and pineapple pulp using sago liquid waste and sucrose as carbon sources. The highest cellulose production was obtained from the mixed bacterial culture of HSD_U2 durian origin (27 g/L) and the least obtained from the mixed bacterial culture of HGP_U2 banana origin (1.2 g/L). The highest water content was obtained from the HGP_U2 culture (98%). The higher the water content, the more elastic the cellulose. Hestrin Schram production medium enriched with sucrose succeeded in increasing the production of bacterial cellulose.
