Eksplorasi Dan Inventarisasi Melinjo (Gnetum Gnemon L.) Di Kota Pekanbaru Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
Melinjo is a cultivated plant that is widely used by the community because it has economic value. However, many people use melinjo plants excessively without seeing the availability of melinjo plants in natural population. This proves that melinjo has been included in the IUCN Red List with Least Concerned (LC) status or less attention. The research was conducted using exploration and inventory techniques. Objective of the study was to determine the diversity of melinjo in Pekanbaru based on morphological characteristics in order to provide information about the diversity of melinjo so that the productivity of melinjo can increase and its sustainability can be maintained. The results of the exploration of melinjo plants at 3 locations obtained 3 varieties, namely barrel, gravel and sticky rice with as many as 35 characters. The canopy of the melinjo plant is pyramidal and oblong. The texture of the stem is slightly rough, rough, rough, wavy, rough, fibrous and wavy, and rough, rough. Leaf shapes are oval, oblong, elliptical, lancet oval, lancelate and ovate. The edges of the leaves are flat and wavy. The base of the leaves is rounded, tapered, pointed. The tips of the leaves are pointed and tapered. There are 4 seeds and 6 seeds in one stalk. The shape of the seeds is round and oblong. The shape of the base of the seed is tapered, rounded, blunt.
