ABSTRACT
In Islamic law, paying zakat is the fourth pillar of Islam which is the duty of every human being to carry it out. The district has enormous potential in managing coconut plantations so that its income is also able to meet daily needs and has even reached the nishab/limit on the value of assets for which zakat is obligatory. The payment of zakat in Rangsang District has not been realized optimally, this is due to the lack of socialization and education regarding the payment of agricultural zakat in Rangsang District. This study aims to analyze the effect of income, education level, and understanding of the cultural coconut farmers in Rangsang District, Meranti Islands Regency. This research method uses quantitative methods. A Total population of 7,496 families and a sample of 98 respondents with the type of data used are primary data and secondary data. The analytical method used is binary logistic regression. The results of this study indicate that the income variable of 1.865 has a significantly positive effect on the payment of agricultural zakat. The education level variable has a non-significant effect at 1.152 and the understanding level variable also has no significant effect at 0.0466. Based on the results obtained, the magnitude of the influence of the coefficient of determination test on the dependent variable is 68.3% and the rest is explained by other variables outside this research model.
