ABSTRACT
Butanediol (BDO) is an important element in the long production chain consisting of various intermediates and derivatives, which are used in various industries and applications, including electronics, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries, production of solvents, paints, coatings, adhesives, wetting agents, textiles, paper, etc. The process used to produce BDO is Maleic anhydride Hydrogen with maleic anhydride and methanol as initial raw materials which is esterified with methanol and the Ester is fed to a low pressure vapor phase hydrogenation system where it is converted into butanediol. This factory will planned to be established in Cilegon, Banten with a capacity of 40,000 tons/year. The company form is a PT or Limited Liability Company which led by a President Director assisted by a Production Director and Finance Director using a line and staff organizational structure.
Eligibility analysis of this Butanediol Plant listed as below :
Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) = Rp531.633.428.396
Working Capital Investment (WCI) = Rp93.817.663.834
Total Capital Investment (TCI) = Rp625.451.092.230
Break Even Point (BEP) = 42%
Pay Out Time (POT) = 2,02year
Return on Investment (ROI) = 37,95%
Required Rate of Return (IRR) = 22,69%
Based on list above, the establishment of this Butanediol factory is worthy of further study, because it is a factory that is profitable from an economic perspective and has relatively good prospects.
