Prarancangan Pabrik Ethanolamine Dari Ethylene Oxide Proses Sabic Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Aminasi (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Ethanolamine or better known as monoethanolamine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C2H7NO which has two functional groups, namely primary amine and primary alcohol. Ethanolamine is generally used as a raw material for surfactants, cosmetics, corrosion inhibitors, and solvents to absorb impurities in natural gas. The need for ethanolamine in Indonesia is still met through import activities. The ethanolamine factory is planned to operate for 330 days 24 hours with a capacity of 55,000 tons per year which will be established in the Cirebon Industrial Area. The raw material used in designing the ethanolamine plant is ethylene oxide using the SABIC Technologies process. The main tool design in this factory design is the Amination Reactor which functions to form monoethanolamine, diethanolamine and triethanolamine products. The amination reactor operates at a pressure of 20 bar and a temperature of 63oC. Economic analysis of this factory design shows that the ethanolamine factory using the SABIC process is feasible to establish with a Return on Investment (ROI) value of 20.43% and a Payback Period (PBP) of 4.9 years.
