Karakteristik Morfometrik Ikan Baung (Hemibagrus Nemurus, Valenciennes 1840) Di Sungai Siak, Kabupaten Siak, Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
The Siak River is one of the largest rivers in Riau Province, which passes through four regency and one city area. The baung fish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is a type of freshwater fish native to Indonesia which has high potential to be developed in the aquaculture sector. This study aims to determine the morphometric variations, growth patterns and ratios of morphometric characters of baung fish in the Siak River, Siak Regency, Riau Province. This research was conducted in December 2022 - February 2023. Sampling was carried out using the survey method with a total sample of 120 fish with 60 male fish and 60 female fish at each research location. The length relationship of the weight of the baung fish in the Siak river is positive and negative allometric. The results of the study found that male H. nemurus in Langkai village had a total length range of 120-275 mm and 110-245 mm for females, while the range of male H. nemurus in Buantan Besar village was 120-280 mm and 120-350 mm for females. The results of the t test showed that there was one character that was not significantly different from the male H. nemurus in Langkai and Buantan Besar villages, namely the depth of the caudal peduncle.
