Profil Hematologi Tikus Putih (Rattus Norvegicus L.) Galur Wistar Setelah Pemberian Ekstrak \ Tebu Hitam (Saccharum Officinarum L.)
ABSTRACT
Black sugarcane is one plant that is often used as traditional medicine because it contains tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, anthocyanins and vitamins. Regular consumption of black sugarcane can affect the hematological profile. An increase and decrease in the number of blood cells that exceed normal limits indicates damage experienced by the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving black sugarcane extract on the hematological profile of white rats Wistar strain by counting the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets and hemoglobin levels. The research design used was a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with 4 treatments, namely control, dose 200 mg/kg BB (P1), dose 400mg/kg BB (P2), and 800mg/kg BB (P3). The data obtained were analyzed with Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further tests with Duncan. The results showed an increase in the number of erythrocytes, namely at a dose of 800 mg/kg body weight with the number of erythrocytes of 7.9×106 /μl, in leukocytes decreased and the lowest leukocyte results were at a dose of 200 mg/kg body weight with a leukocyte count of 7.2×103 /μL, while platelets and hemoglobin did not have a noticeable effect when compared to control.
Key findings: Black Sugarcane, Erythrocyte, Leukocyte, Hemoglobin, Platelets.
