Prarancangan Pabrik Anilin Proses Hidrogenasi Katalitik Dengan Desain Utama Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Aniline is an organic compound which is included in the aromatic compounds with the molecular formula C6H5NH2. Aniline is used as an initial raw material for the synthesis of dyes, vulcanization accelerator for rubber, production of herbicides, pesticides and medicines. Its most important use is found in the synthesis of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) which is a precursor to polyurethane foams used as insulation materials in the construction and automotive industries. The need for aniline in Indonesia is still met through import activities. The aniline factory is planned to operate for 330 days 24 hours with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year which will be established in the Cilegon Industrial Area. The raw materials used in designing the aniline plant are nitrobenzene and hydrogen using the Catalytic Hydrogenation process. The main tool design in this factory design is a Fixed Bed Multitube Reactor which functions to form aniline products with water by-products. The Multitube Fixed Bed Reactor operates at a pressure of 2.32 atm and a temperature of 302°C. Economic analysis of the design of this factory shows that an aniline factory using a catalytic hydrogenation process is feasible to establish with a Return on Investment (ROI) value of 23.662% and a Pay Out Time (POT) of 3,207 years.
