Prarancangan Pabrik Poli Propilen (Pp) Proses Novolen Dengan Desain Alat Utama Mixer (M-01)
ABSTRACT
Polypropylene is a thermoplastic polymer that has the following monomeric structure: -CH2=CH2. Polypropylene is the raw material for making various kinds of plastic goods with the current market price of 2500-3000 USD/ton. Polypropylene is an important and widely used thermoplastic polymer. The development of various variations and the breadth of its use, it is possible to manipulate with various additives to obtain polymeric materials that can be used for various other purposes. Manufacture of polypropylene using the novolen process. The Novolen process was one of the first gas phase processes for polypropylene and is still used today due to the simplicity of the reactor design and operation. Polypropylene uses feedstock of propylene, hydrogen, catalyst, co-catalyst and support catalyst to help the process of polypropylene forming. The pre-design of Polypropylene plant from propylene and hydrogen with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year will be planned in Cilegon Industrial Estate, Banten. The main raw materials used in the production of Polypropylene are propylene and hydrogen. The results of the economic analysis of the Pre-design of Polypropylene Plant from Propylene and Hydrogen are BEP (Break event Point) obtained in the design of this plant at 35% capacity. ROI (Rate of Investment) obtained in this design is 375.023958%, IRR (Interest Rate of Return) obtained in this design is 22.76%. The interest rate of return is the interest rate that produces a net present value price at the end of the plant life equal to zero, the IRR value must be below 30%. PBP (Pay Back Period) obtained in this design is 1 year. The PBP value indicates a factory is feasible or not to be established, the time span for capital return should be less than 5 years of operation. From the data from the calculation of the economic analysis above, it can be concluded that the Polypropylene plant from Propylene and Hydrogen is feasible to establish.
