Prarancangan Pabrik Kalsium Hidroksida Dari Kalsium Oksida Dan Air Dengan Desain Alat Utama Rotary Dryer (Rd-101)
ABSTRACT
Calcium hydroxide is a chemical compound that is very useful as a raw material in the gypsum, dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD), citric acid, paper and sugar industries. Based on BPS data, Indonesia is one of the most important calcium hydroxide producers in the Asian region. Therefore, a calcium hydroxide factory was designed to operate continuously for 330 days/year with a capacity of 100,000 tons/year with the aim of meeting domestic and export needs, increasing the country’s foreign exchange and reducing unemployment in Indonesia and making Indonesia one of the calcium hydroxide producers. Calcium hydroxide is produced from the hydration process of calcium oxide and water through several stages, namely the raw material preparation stage, reaction stage, product separation and purification stage and storage stage. This factory was named PT Aqsa Chemical Industry Indonesia inspired by the name of a place that became an icon of struggle and revival, namely, the Al Aqsa Mosque in Palestine. The factory is planned to be established in the Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) industrial area, Gresik Regency, East Java Province near the Bengawan Solo River which will be used as the main water supplier for the factory. The land required is 10 hectares and requires 253 employees. This factory requires total investment capital of IDR 261,346,830,605.81 which was obtained from investors amounting to 40% and a bank loan of 60% and production costs amounting to IDR 370,932,528,178.43. Based on economic analysis, this factory is feasible to establish with a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 530,456,869,725.00; Payback period (PBP) value for 1 year 8 months; Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.7731%; Return On Investman (ROI) of 46.438%; Break Even Point (BEP) of 40.002%; and sensitivity analysis, which shows that factory profits are not sensitive to changes in raw material prices, changes in product selling prices and changes in production capacity.
