Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Palmitat Dari Cpo Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Continuous Hidrolisis (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Palmitic acid is a saturated fatty acid composed of 16 carbon atoms (CH3(CH2)14COOH). Palmitic acid has a high composition, namely around 44%. When viewed from a nutritional perspective, palmitic acid is an important source of calories. Apart from that, this product is also widely used in the fields of cosmetics and coloring. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 80,000 tons/year which will be established in the Rokan Hilir area, Riau. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is the Continuous Hydrolysis Reactor (R-101) which functions to hydrolyze CPO and water into palmitic acid. This Continuous Hydrolysis Reactor is operated at a pressure of 3.6 bar and a temperature of 140 ⁰C. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 36%, BEP occurs in the 5th year, Pay Back Period (PBP) of 4.725 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 22.163%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 22.778%.
