Prarancangan Pabrik Biobutanol Proses Fermentasi Glukosa Off Grade Dengan Desain Alat Utama Distilasi Biobutanol (T-104)
ABSTRACT
Biobutanol is an alternative energy substitute for fossil fuels which can be
produced from natural materials or from production waste containing sugar and
starch. The main raw materials used in the manufacture of biobutanol by the
fermentation process are off grade glucose and the bacteria Clostridium
acetobutylicum. The plant is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work
continuously for 24 hours per day, with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year to be
established in the city of Mataram Udik, Kecamatan Bandar Mataram, Kabupaten
Lampung Timur, Lampung. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability
Company with a line and staff organization system. The employee work system is
based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift
employees. The main equipment in this plant is the Distillation Biobutanol (T-
104), which functions to separate the top product in the form of an acetoneethanol
mixture and the bottom product in the form of a butanol-water mixture.
This distillation is operated at a pressure of 2 atm and a temperature of 87⁰C at the
top stage and pressure of 2 atm and temperature of 94⁰C at the bottom stage. The
economic analysis in this plant design shows that this plant is feasible to establish.
Break Event Point (BEP) value of 40%, Pay Back Period (PBP) for 2.25 years,
Rate of Investment (ROI) of 44.35%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of
22.77%.
