Prarancangan Pabrik Biobutanol Proses Fermentasi Glukosa Off Grade Dengan Desain Alat Utama Fermentor (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Biobutanol is an alternative energy substitute for fossil fuels which can be
produced from natural materials or from production waste containing sugar and
starch. The combustion energy of butanol (27,800 kJ/L) is greater than ethanol
(21,100 kJ/L), although lower than gasoline (31,200 kJ/L), so the amount of
butanol needed to produce the same energy as burning gasoline is less than
amount of ethanol. This feasibility study aims to (1) Analyze investment in the
construction of a biobutanol factory based on technical, institutional, market,
environmental, management and legal (non-financial) aspects; (2) Analyzing the
feasibility level of investment in a biobutanol factory based on financial aspects;
and (3) Analyzing the sensitivity of the feasibility of biobutanol to changes in
production costs and reductions in production capacity. Based on non-financial
aspects consisting of technical, market, environmental, management and legal
aspects, there are no obstacles that could disrupt operational processes or the
goals to be achieved. From a financial aspect perspective, based on the
assumptions and criteria used for the construction of a biobutanol factory it is
feasible to implement it with a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR
196,719,282,603; BEP 40%; ROI 44.35%; PBP 2.25 years. The results of the
sensitivity analysis were carried out by looking at the influence of volatility of 4
components, namely raw material prices, product selling prices, employee
salaries, and maintenance/maintenance costs that are feasible to implement.
