Pra Rancangan Pabrik Anilin Proses Hidrogenasi Katalitik Dengan Desain Utama Kolom Distilasi Anilin (T-101)
ABSTRACT
Aniline is an organic compound which is included in the aromatic compounds with the molecular formula C6H5NH2. Aniline is used as an initial raw material for the synthesis of dyes, vulcanization accelerator for rubber, production of herbicides, pesticides and medicines. Its most important use is found in the synthesis of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) which is a precursor to polyurethane foams used as insulation materials in the construction and automotive industries. The need for aniline in Indonesia is still met through import activities. The aniline factory is planned to operate for 330 days 24 hours with a capacity of 20,000 tons per year which will be established in the Cilegon Industrial Area. The raw materials used in designing the aniline plant are hydrogen and nitrobenzene using a catalytic hydrogenation process. The main tool design in the pre-design of this factory is the Aniline Distillation Column which functions to separate aniline from water, nitrobenzene and p-dinitrobenzene. Operating conditions in the feed section with a temperature of 111.179°C and a pressure of 1 atm. Economic analysis of the pre-design of this factory shows that an aniline factory using a catalytic hydrogenation process is feasible to establish with a Return on Investment (ROI) value of 23.880% and a Pay Out Time (POT) of 3.18 years.
