Efektivitas Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Daun Tuba (Derris Elliptica (Wallich) Benth.) Terhadap Mortalitas Wereng Batang Coklat Padi (Nilaparvata Lugens Stal.) Di Laboratorium
Rice plants are rice-producing food plants which are the main source of staple food, especially in Indonesian. Rice can meet most of the nutritional needs of various layers of society. One of the pests that often causes crop failure and decreased rice production is the brown planthopper (Nilaparvata lugens). Plants that have the potential to become botanical pesticides are tuba plants
(Derris elliptica). This research aims to obtain the effective concentration of tuba leaf extract on the mortality of the brown planthopper. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pests, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, in the month January to March 2023, using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications. Concentration of tuba leaf extract with water solvent consisting of a concentration of P0: 0%. P1: 2,5%, P2: 5%, P3: 7,5% and P4: 10%. The results showed that giving tuba leaf extract had a significant effect on the death of brown planthoppers. Concentration tuba leaf extract of 7,5% is an effective concentration in controlling brown planthoppers because it has been able to cause a total mortality of 82,50% with an initial death time of 4,50 hours after application and a lethal time of 50 at 20,75 hours after application.
Keywords: Tuba leaf, brown planthopper, botanical pesticides.
