Kemampuan Tanaman Air Sebagai Fitoremediator Limbah Cair Pabrik Pengolahan Kelapa Sawit
Liquid waste from palm oil processing factories is the main waste so it has the highest potential as an environmental pollutant. Waste treatment can be done by phytoremediation using water plants. The purpose of this research was to determine the ability of L. flava, P. stratiotes, and I.aquatica plants as phytoremediation in processing palm oil liquid waste. The research used a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments (species of aquatic plants: Limnocharis flava, Pistia stratiotes, Ipomoea aquatica) and controls without using plants. The research was conducted for 15 days. The research results show that the three aquatic plants (Limnocharis flava, Pistia stratiotes and Ipomoea aquatica) are able to increase pH and reduce COD in liquid waste from palm oil processing factories. All three aquatic plants decreased in fresh plant biomass.
Key findings : Aquatic plants, liquid waste, palm oil processing factory,
phytoremediation.
