Gambaran Karakteristik Disfagia Pada Pasien Stroke Iskemik Yang Dirawat Di Bangsal Saraf RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2023
ABSTRACT
Ischemic stroke is a clinical symptom in the form of a functional disorder of the brain and occurs suddenly with clinical signs and symptoms, both partial and complete, that last 24 hours or more due to blockage of blood vessels to the brain. One of the clinical symptoms of ischemic stroke is dysphagia (swallowing disorders). This symptom is quite worrying in ischemic stroke patients because it can be a common cause of dehydration, stroke associated pneumonia (SAP), and prolonged length of stay which can increase mortality rates. This study used a descriptive design with a cross-sectional research method determine the characteristics of dysphagia in ischemic stroke patients treated at the nerve ward of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province from August to November 2023. The result of this study showing from 40 ischemic stroke patients, dysphagia was found in 42.5% with the characteristics of the majority being 51-60 years old (41.2%), male (58.8%), with the majority's length of stay being more than 5 days ( 70.6%), lesion location was subcortical (35,3%) and combination (35,3%), had multiple risk factor (70.6%), onset of dysphagia occurred in less than 3 days (100%), first stroke (52.9% ), low sodium electrolyte levels (76.5%), low potassium electrolyte levels (58.8%), low chloride electrolyte levels (64.7%), and the majority did not experience stroke associated pneumonia (sap) (58.8% ).
