Uji Kompatibilitas Persilangan Anggrek Dendrobium Secara Interspesies Dan Resiprok Untuk Menghasilkan Hibrid Dendrobium Baru
New types of hybrids can be created through crosses between species that have unique characteristics. One of the necessary pieces of information for a successful crossover is compatibility. In order to compare and find out the compatibility, it is necessary to cross it back and forth (reciprocal). The aim of this research is to determine the compatibility of interspecies crosses and the reciprocity of Dendrobium orchids and observe the growth of fruit resulting from the crosses. This research was conducted with one factor, the method of crossing at two levels, interspecies crosses and reciprocal crosses. Parameters observed were days of fruit formation, days of sepal and petal wilting, cross compatibility, fruit length, and diameter. The data obtained is presented in the form of a descriptive analysis. The research results showed that the cross compatibility was above 90%, so it was considered fully compatible. Time to form fruit 4-8 days after crossing (DAC). Sepal and petal wilting days vary widely from 11.3–35 DAC. The average fruit length is 4.56 cm, and the average fruit diameter is 1.75 cm.
Key findings: Compatibility, Crosses, Dendrobium, Interspecies, Reciproc.
