Uji Fitokimia Dan Aktivitas Antioksidan Daun Ketapang (Terminalia Cattapa L.)
Ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.) is a plant grown in the tropics for shade plants. Ketapang leaves are a part that is often used in aquaculture as antibacterial, antifungal and antiparasitic. This study aims to determine the content of secondary metabolite compounds and antioxidant activity in ketapang leaves, namely brown leaves and red leaves. The preparation of ketapang leaf extract is carried out by maceration method using 70% methanol solvent. Phytochemical tests were carried out qualitatively and antioxidant activity tests were carried out by the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrihydrazyl). The results of phytochemical tests show that old ketapang leaves contain secondary metabolite compounds, namely alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenoids, tannins and saponins. The content of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins in red old ketapang leaves is higher than brown old ketapang leaves. The triterpenoid content in brown old ketapang leaves is higher than red old ketapang leaves. Red old ketapang leaves have antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 0.85 μg/mL stronger than brown leaves with an IC50 value of 61.28 μg/mL.
