HUBUNGAN KADAR HBA1C DENGAN RETINOPATI DIABETIK PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI RSUD ARIFIN ACHMAD PROVINSI RIAU
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease causes hyperglycemia, long-term exposure
will become a major risk factor for diabetes mellitus complications such as diabetic
retinopathy. Hyperglycemia can be controlled by checking HbA1C levels. This
study aims to determine the relationship between HbA1C levels and diabetic
retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The design of this research is
observational analytic with a cross sectional study. The sample collection method
uses primary and secondary data. Primary data includes visual examination, TIO,
OCT, and fundus photos, while secondary data includes data on HbA1C levels,
disease history, and previous treatment history. The sampling technique used was
consecutive sampling data was analyzed with chi-square test. The research
included 43 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with the 72.1% patients were women
with majority of subjects were ≥45 years old(97.7%). Most Hba1C levels were
uncontrolled (>7%) as many as 33 (76.7%). The incidence of diabetic retinopathy
in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients is 51.2%. There was a relationship between
HbA1C levels and diabetic retinopathy (OR=6.154; P=0.034). HbA1C levels are
