HUBUNGAN EKSPRESI GEN ANDROGEN RECEPTOR (AR) DENGAN PROGNOSIS PASIEN KARSINOMA GINJAL TIPE CLEAR CELL
Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is a renal cortex tumor characterized by clear cytoplasm and dense alveolar with branched vascularity. Androgens (testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT)) are steroid hormones that function in the reproductive system and the development of secondary sexual characteristics in men. Previous studies to assess the association between AR and RCC with metastatic features, grading, and prognosis of kidney cancer have shown contradictory results. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between AR gene expression and prognosis of clear cell renal cell carcinoma patients. This study used observational analysis method with retroprospective cohort approach to analyze AR gene expression and prognosis of ccRCC type kidney cancer patients. Data on ccRCC kidney cancer patients is downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database via https://xenabrowser.net/ . The samples used in this study amounted to 606 samples taken by the total sampling method. There was a significant difference between AR gene expression in ccRCC tissue with anatomical classification and histology classification variables, and was not significant in age groups, and sex. Patients with high AR gene expression levels had a higher probability of overall survival and progression-free survival than those with low expression levels. AR gene expression is an independent factor of prognosis of ccRCC patients. There is an association between AR expression to the prognosis of ccRCC type kidney cancer patients and AR expression is an independent factor of prognosis of ccRCC type kidney cancer patients to other clinical characteristics.
