Peran Masyarakat Adat Dalam Melestarikan Seni Pencak Silat Di Kecamatan Kepenuhan Kabupaten Rokan Hulu

This research was motivated by the existence of Pencak Silat Art in Kepenuhan District regarding preserving the art of pencak silat. This research aims to find out the process and changes and the role of indigenous communities in preserving the art of pencak silat which is experiencing changes in Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this research consisted of the Kepenuhan District community, namely 7 people from traditional leaders, teacher trainers, students who took part in preserving the art of pencak silat. The data analysis technique in this research uses qualitative methods. The findings in this research are that the pencak silat art process is still carried out today, however, it has experienced shifts or changes, such as in the areas of implementation procedures and public understanding of the Pencak Silat art in Kepenuhan District, Rokan Hulu Regency. This problem is caused by a lack of public interest in preserving the art of pencak silat, which can cause the art of pencak silat to fade in Kepenuhan District.
