Efektivitas Konsentrasi Ekstrak Organik Daun Pepaya Jepang (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius I.M. Johnst) terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Grayak Jagung (Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith) di Laboratorium
Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) is a horticultural commodity. Sweet corn production in Indonesia is still insufficient to meet national needs and sweet corn import policy is still in place. Increased productivity of sweet corn attacked by fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith) caused a 73% decrease in corn production. Fall armyworm needs to be put under immediate control, but control is still high with synthetic pesticides. The chaya leaf (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius I.M. Jhonst) is a potential organic extract botanical pesticides, because it contains a variety of chemical compounds. The research is aimed at obtaining an effective concentration of organic extract of chaya leaf against mortality of the pest fall armyworm. This research was conducted in the Plant Pests Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University from August to October 2022. The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments with four replications to obtain 24 experimental units. The treatment given is extract organic of chaya leaf, with a concentration treatment of 0%, 0,2%, 0,4%, 0,6%, 0,8%, 1%. The results showed the application organic extract of chaya leaf at a concentration of 0,8% was an effective concentration because it caused a total mortality of S. frugiperda larvae of 87,5% with an initial time of death of 3,5 hours after application and a lethal time of 50 at 24,25 hours after application, and this botanical pesticides is classified as high toxic, because the lethal concentration 50 is 0,12%.
