The general definition of education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process for students to actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble morals, and the skills needed by themselves and society. Education is a learning process as a conscious and systematic effort for students to be able to understand, understand and make people more critical in thinking. This is where the role of the principal as a school supervisor carries out supervision as an effort to ensure an increase in the quality of education in his school.
As a supervisor and leader in a school, the principal must also strive to improve quality through effective learning that runs as it should. This supervision must also provide comfort and positive encouragement to educators both psychologically and in terms of their obligations to continue to be able to carry out the teaching and learning process according to the curriculum, learning plans so that the vision, mission and goals of education or school can be realized.
Educator abilities can be classified into two, namely low level and high level. Low level abilities consist of knowledge, understanding and application, while high level abilities include analysis, synthesis, evaluation and creativity. In the teaching and learning process, educators are required to have creativity. Educators must really understand how to use their creativity and creativity so that the teaching and learning process can run optimally. In the sense that learning objectives can be achieved as they should. Educator creativity can also help students develop their thinking abilities by using learning tools/media, learning methods, and even learning innovations so as to provide attraction in the teaching and learning process and make it easier for students to understand what is conveyed by educators.
Students will not have high-level thinking abilities if they are not given the opportunity to develop them and are not directed to do so. So that students have high-level thinking abilities, using HOTS learning is one method that can be used. HOTS learning is considered capable of answering problems in learning and even able to train students to be ready to compete globally. With various analyzes and considerations carried out by the Government, an evaluation program was created by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) to remove the National Examination and replace it with a Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) and character survey.
The research used is a quantitative research method. As the term suggests, quantitative research uses a lot of numbers, starting from data collection, data interpretation, and interpretation of the data. The type of research used in this research is associative (relationship) research using quantitative analysis methods (data in the form of numbers). The population in this study were all teachers in Minas District with a teacher population of 205 teachers, the research sample was 68 State High School teachers in Tenayan Raya District, Pekanbaru. The trial was carried out on 20 school teachers from whom the remaining samples were taken. The data collection technique is in the form of an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. Meanwhile, what is used to process and analyze data in this research is research data profile analysis techniques in the form of descriptions, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. This research data was analyzed using the SPSS (statistical package for social science) Version.21 program.
The results of the research showed that there was a significant influence between the Academic Supervision variable on the Effectiveness of HOTS Learning Ability, then a significant influence was obtained between the creativity variable of teacher performance on the Effectiveness of HOTS Learning Ability, then a significant influence was obtained between the Academic Supervision variable on AKM implementation and a significant influence was obtained. There is a significant relationship between the creativity variable of teacher performance and the implementation of AKM.
