Karakteristik Sedimen Pada Ekosistem Mangrove Di Perairan Kundur Kabupaten Karimun Provinsi Kepulauan Riau
This research was conducted in April 2023. The analysis took place at the Physical Oceanography Laboratory and the Marine Chemistry Laboratory, Department of Marine Science, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Riau University. The aim was to analyze sediment fraction texture, organic content, types, and density of mangroves, as well as the relationship between organic content and mangrove density. The survey method involved direct field observations and sample measurements. In the waters of Kundur, Karimun Regency, sediment fractions were identified as fine sand, fine silt, and coarse silt across different stations. Mangrove density ranged from 2,800 to 4,055 individuals per hectare, while organic content in the sediment varied between 2.221% and 3.626%. There were 15 species of mangroves identified, including Aegiceras corniculatum, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Avicennia lanata, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera exaristata, Camptostemon schultzii, Ceriops tagal, Ceriops decandra, Pandanus odoratissima, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Sonneratia alba, Sonneratia caseolaris, and Hibiscus tiliaceus. The linear regression equation obtained was y = -0.0191x + 3.7648, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.088, indicating a weak correlation between organic content and mangrove density. The coefficient of determination (R^2) at 0.008 showed that 0.8% of the organic content was influenced by mangrove density, while 99.2% was influenced by other factors such as anthropogenic activities and aquatic organisms.
