The Hexamine factory in the form of PT. HMTA INDUSTRIAL INDONESIA is designed to have a production capacity of 10,000 tons/year with a Rotary Dryer (B-101) main equipment design. Hexamine or hexamethylene tetramine (HMTA) has wide use in the chemical industry, namely as an accelerator in the rubber industry, TNT mixture in the explosives industry, shrink-proofing agent in the textile industry, curing agent in the resin industry, coating material for area fertilizer granules, inhibitor corrosion, antiseptic raw materials, as well as the cellulose fiber industry, and various other fields. The process stages that occur consist of four, namely the raw material preparation stage in the form of formaldehyde and ammonia, the product formation stage which occurs in the CSTR (Continuous Flow Stirred Tank Reactor) reactor which reacts using the Meissner process with a conversion of 98%, the separation stage of the side products resulting from the reaction in the form of water, and purification stages by drying and equalizing the size of the product. The Hexamine factory is planned to operate continuously for 24 hours with a production time of 330 days/year. Based on the economic analysis that has been carried out, the payback period is 15 months and 1 week, the internal rate of return is 22.75%, the return on investment is 63.185%, and the break even point is 46%. Judging from the description above, technically and economically, a Hexamine or hexamethylene tetramine factory from formaldehyde and ammonia is feasible to establish.
