Prarancangan Pabrik Bisfenol-A Dari Fenol Dan Aseton Proses Sabic Dengan Disain Alat Utama Reaktor Bisfenol-A (R-101)
Bisphenol-A or commonly abbreviated as BPA, also known as 2,2-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, is an organic component with two phenol functional groups. Bisphenol-A is used to produce polycarbonate plastics and resins. The reason for establishing a Bisphenol-A factory in Indonesia is to meet domestic needs so as to reduce the value of imports. The Bisphenol-A factory uses raw materials in the form of phenol and acetone. The manufacturing process includes 3 stages, namely the feed preparation stage which aims to change the condition of the raw material before it enters the reactor, the second stage is the process of forming bisphenol-A which occurs in a fixed bed reactor with the help of a polystyrene-divynylbenzene sulfonated resin catalyst, and the third stage permits and purification products. The Bisfenol-A factory is planned to be established and operational in 2025 in the Cilegon Estate Industrial Area (KIEC), Banten with a capacity of 150,000 tons/year.
Key words: Bisphenol-A, Acetone, Phenol, Resin.
