This research aims to determine the competitiveness of the brown sugar household industry in Rangsang District, Meranti Island Regency. The approach method used in this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The types of data used in this research are primary and secondary data. The primary data was obtained directly from respondents through interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained through government agencies such as the Central Statistics Agency and the Meranti Islands Regency Department of Industry and Trade. The analytical method used is Porter Five Model Analysis, population and sample of 10 brown sugar industries. The results of the research show that competition in the brown sugar industry business in Rangsang District is quite high, as the brown sugar industry business players grow and develop rapidly from year to year. In 2008 there were only 2 business units, in 2023 it will grow to 10 registered business units. Competition in the brown sugar industry is dominated by the area of coconut tree plantations for processing into brown sugar.
