The purpose of this study is to identify the resources and skills that the Shrimp Amplang Home Industry in the Tembilahan Kota District possesses that can provide it a competitive advantage. This study's methodology adopted a qualitative descriptive approach. In this study, both primary and secondary data were utilised. where main data was collected through interviews and documentation directly from respondents. In the meantime, secondary data was acquired through government organizations including the Fisheries Service for Indragiri Hilir Regency and the Central Bureau of Statistics for Indragiri Hilir Regency. Resources Based View (RBV) is the analytical approach that is used, and the Value, Rarity, Imitability, and Organization (VRIO) framework is used to analyse the data. The examination of resources from a resources-based perspective reveals which resources and capabilities can be turned into competitive advantages. Several resources that each industry owns can become competitive advantages, such as the availability of raw materials from suppliers whose quality is guaranteed, according to the findings of the conducted interviews. Geographically speaking, the six household factories that process shrimp amplang are situated in Indragiri Hilir Regency, which produces the most catch fish in Riau Province. However, the challenges faced by each household industry in Tembilahan Kota District that processes shrimp amplang are the same, namely service and a lack of technological expertise.
