Korelasi Genetik Antar Karakter Komponen Hasil Tanaman Tomat (Solanum Lycopersicum L.)
The decrease in tomato production that occurred in Riau Province was caused by several factors, including the cultivated tomato varieties that have not been able to adapt well, especially in the lowlands. It is needed to conduct research related to tomato cultivation, by assembling superior tomato varieties in the lowlands. The purpose of this study was to determine the genetic correlation to determine selection criteria in several tomato genotypes, and the selection response between yield component characters. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with eight genotypes consisting of UNRI T22, UNRI T23, UNRI T24, UNRI T25, UNRI T26, UNRI T27, Ratna and Servo with four repetitions resulting 32 experimental units with a plot size of 5 m x 1 m. Each experimental unit contained 20 plants with 10 plants sampled. The results of the research conducted on yield component characters in eight tomato genotypes showed that the characters of harvest age, plant height, plant stem diameter, number of fruits per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit flesh thickness, and weight per fruit were correlated with the character of fruit weight per plant. Direct selection responses with high values are found in characters of plant height, number of fruits per plant, fruit length and weight per fruit.
Keywords: genetic correlation, selection criteria, tomato genotypes, yield component characters
