Keragaman Genetik Dan Heritabilitas Karakter Pertumbuhan Dan Hasil Tanaman Tomat (Solanum Lycopersicum L.) Di Dataran Rendah
The low production of tomato plants in Riau is partly due to the fact that tomatoes have not been able to adapt to the lowlands. Planting superior tomato varieties that are lowland tolerant is needed to increase tomato production. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity component, heritability value, genetic correlation and selection response of yield characters of eight tomato genotypes cultivated in the lowlands. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with eight genotypes consisting of UNRI T22, UNRI T23, UNRI T24, UNRI T25, UNRI T26, Ratna and Servo with four replications so as to obtain 32 experimental units with a size of 5 x 1 m. Each experimental unit contained 20 plants with 10 genotypes. Each experimental unit contained 20 plants with 10 plants sampled. The results of the research conducted on eight tomato genotypes showed that the character that has a wide genetic diversity is the weight per fruit. Characters that have high heritability values are the number of fruits per plant, fruit length, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. The characters of the number of fruits per plant, fruit length and weight per fruit are correlated with the character of fruit weight per plant. The response value of indirect selection to get the highest fruit weight per plant can be done by selecting the characters of harvest age, number of fruits per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter and weight per fruit.
