Karakterisasi Dan Evaluasi Kesesuaian Lahan Rawa Pasang Surut Untuk Tanaman Aren (Arenga Pinnata Merr.) Di Tenayan Raya, Pekanbaru
Sugar palm is an economically and ecologically functions. Sugar palm is also able to adapt to various land conditions including tidal land. This study aims to identify land characteristics and their suitability based on factors inhibiting of sugar palm in tidal land. This land survey research was carried out in the area Tenayan Raya, Pekanbaru. Soil sampling points are determined based on an overlay of the land system map, soil type map, and peat depth map. The suitability assessment of tidal land is carried out using a matching method in actual and potential conditions. The results show that the actual land suitability in all SLH is not suitable (N1) with the limiting factors being oxygen availability (OA), rooting condition (RC) and nutrient retention (NR). Land limiting factors can be overcome by improving the drainage system, adding organic material, liming and fertilizing to obtain potential land suitability classes marginally suitable (S3).
