Potensi Lempung Maredan Dalam Memperbaikikualitas Parameter Air Gambut :Warna, Ph, Tds, Tss, Dan Zat Organik
Clay is a natural mineral that is quite abundant in Indonesia, one of which is in Maredan Village, Kec. Tualang District. Siak, Riau Province and is a good adsorbent used to absorb organic compounds, dyes and heavy metal ions. This is because clay minerals have properties that are easy to swell, have a high cation exchange capacity, a large surface area, and are chemically and mechanically stable. This research aims to improve the quality of color parameters, pH, TDS, TSS, and organic substances in peat water using Maredan clay based on the standard regulations of PP No. 22 of 2021 Class I concerning Raw Water for Drinking Water and PERMENKES No. 32 of 2017 concerning Environmental Health Quality Standards. The method used for this adsorption is the batch method by contacting Maredan clay with peat water. Measurements of color parameters, pH, TDS, TSS, and organic substances in peat water are carried out based on SNI references for each of these parameters. Characterization of Maredan clay before and after adsorption using a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) instrument to determine bond vibrations and functional groups of Maredan clay. The results obtained show that Maredan clay is less able to improve the parameters of color, pH, TDS, TSS and organic substances in peat water and is only able to improve TDS and TSS concentrations that meet the standard values for drinking water quality based on the standard regulations of PP No.22 of the Year 2021 and PERMENKES No. 32 of 2017, while the parameters for pH, color and organic substances obtained do not meet drinking water quality standards based on the standard regulations of PP No. 22 of 2021 and PERMENKES no. 32 of 2017.
