Uji Bahan Pembawa Pada Formulasi Tepung Beauveria Bassiana (Bals.) Vuillemin Lokal Terhadap Mortalitas Ulat Bawang Spodoptera Exigua Hubner. Di Laboratorium
Spodoptera exigua Hubner. is a major pest in onion crops. Biological control using local Beauveria bassiana (Bals.) Vuillemin to control S. exigua. The effectiveness of the local B. bassiana can be protected by the addition of a carrier. This study aims to determine the best carrier in the flour formulation of local Beauveria bassiana entomopathogenic on the mortality of Spodoptera exigua larvae in the laboratory. The research was conducted at the Plant Pest Control Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, from January to March 2024. This research has been carried out by using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replicate. The treatments were bran flour, eggshell flour, clam shell flour and kaolin flour. Data were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance and further test with 5% level of Honestly Significant Difference Test (HSD Test). Carrier eggshell flour, clam shell flour and kaolin flour can be used as carrier in the local B. bassiana flour formulation with a conidia density of 0,94 × kon. , 0,99 × kon. and 1.06 × kon. for controlling S. exigua larvae and have entered the bioinsecticide category because it is able to cause total mortality of S. exigua larvae of 75%, 80% and 90%.
