Upaya Orangtua Mengatasi Kecanduan Bermain Game Online Pada Remaja Di Kelurahan Bagan Besar Kota Dumai
This research was conducted in Bagan Besar Village, Bukit Kapur District, Dumai City with the aim of finding out what factors are behind teenagers becoming addicted to online games and to find out what impacts are caused by addiction to playing online games. The benefits of research can be useful both theoretically and practically. The theory used in this research uses the theory of social action from Max Weber, in this social action is related to the topic under study where the actions carried out by children who are addicted to playing online games are included in the category of affective actions. These actions are determined or influenced by the emotional feelings of the person. player/actor. The method used in this research uses qualitative research methods which aim to analyze the phenomena that occur and provide an in-depth and more detailed explanation regarding the role of parents in teenagers' addiction to playing online games. Findings show that online gaming addiction has resulted in a number of negative impacts on adolescents, including decreased school attendance, lack of social interaction with family and friends, as well as decreased academic achievement and overall well-being. Therefore, parents play an important role in overcoming and preventing online game addiction in teenagers. They actively look for solutions, such as limiting play time, diverting attention to positive activities, and increasing supervision of children's activities in the digital world.
