Potensi Ekonomi Tanaman Nipah Untuk Meningkatkan Pendapatan Masyarakat Di Kecamatan Enok Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir

This research was motivated by the potential of nipa palm plants that grow naturally in Enok District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. This research aims to find out how much economic potential nipa palm plants have and tofind out the role of nipa plants in increasing people's income in Enok District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The population in this research are people who work as processors of nipa palm products. Respondents in this study were taken using a simple purposive method using a small sample of 30 people who work as processors of nipah plants in Enok District. The data in this research consists of primary data and secondary data. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods to describe the economic potential of nipa palm plants to increase community income and uses SWOT analysis by interviewing 5 (five) key informants to find strategies for developing businesses processing nipa palm products. The results of the research show that not all of the economic potential of nipa palm plants can be exploited by the community, and the role of nipa plants in increasing income has not been able to meet people's living needs in daily activities. The strategy for developing the nipa palm crop business based on the results of the SWOT matrix analysis is in quadrant I (Growth Oriented Strategy) which means it is worth developing by maximizing existing strengths and opportunities (Strengths-Opportunities) that can be done in the nipa palm crop business, namely adding more product diversification. again, thereby increasing the selling value of nipah products and utilizing raw materials and the experience of entrepreneurs to improve product quality.
