Perilaku Berbelanja Mahasiswa Fisip Universitas Riau (Studi Kasus Penggunaan Shopee Pay Later)

The presence of Buy Now Pay Later is increasingly widespread in society, especially among students as the second largest Paylater users. This study aims to determine: 1) the factors behind the use of Shopee Paylater among students, 2) the benefits of using SPaylater among FISIP UNRI students. This study is a descriptive qualitative study, with data collection techniques by interview, observation and documentation. The subjects in the study were six informants who were determined using purposive sampling techniques. The results of the study showed that there were several tendencies that underlie students using SPaylater for shopping, including financial constraints, ease of application requirements, interest in promo voucher offers, spontaneous product purchases, and use influenced by trends on social media. Student users of Shopee Paylater feel they benefit because they can get goods without having to wait long or having to save first. This study reveals that although Shopee Paylater offers various benefits with a low-interest installment system, there are extra discount vouchers and cashback, as well as all the ease of use offered. The existence of Shopee Paylater can change the way a person shops to be more uncontrolled and impulsive.
