Prarancangan Pabrik Methyl Methacrylate Dari Isobutylene Dengan Desain Alat Utama Destilasi (T-102) Skripsi
Methyl methacrylate is a compound with the molecular formula C5H8O2 which is an ester derivative and a monomer form of acrylic resin. The primary use of MMA monomer is to form polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) homopolymers for the production of cast and extruded acrylic sheets. Methyl methacrylate is made using an oxidation process on isobutylene. This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 38,000 tons/year which will be established in the Cilegon industrial area, Cilegon, Banten. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is distillation (T-102) which functions to separate methyl methacrylate from water. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. Based on the results of the economic feasibility analysis of the factory, the Methyl methacrylate factory is feasible to establish with a PBP of 3.32 years, IRR of 22.55%, ROI of 30.08%, and BEP of 44%.
