The issue in this study is that pencak silat, one of the extracurricular activities at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru, has seen a decline in student interest with each new academic year. To address this problem, strategic steps have been taken that can be implemented by the school and the pencak silat community, such as improving training facilities to make them more adequate and comfortable for students. This is intended to encourage students to train and participate in pencak silat extracurricular activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of student interest in participating in pencak silat extracurricular activities at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru. This is a descriptive study with a population of 132 students. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling, with a total of 87 students who filled out the questionnaire. The research instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire. Based on the research results, it was found that students' interest in participating in pencak silat extracurricular activities at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru falls into the Moderate category, as it is within the assessment score range of 41–60%, with a percentage of 59.16%. Therefore, the researcher recommends that the school and coaches strive to promote, develop student interest, and enhance the appeal of pencak silat extracurricular activities at SMA PGRI Pekanbaru.
