Strategi Pemerintahan RI Dalam Peningkatan Industri Pariwisata di Bali Pasca Bom Bali II (2004-2007)
This policy research focuses on exploring the factors that attract foreign
tourists to visit Bali and to discuss its implications on planning of Bali as a tourism
destination. At the moment the tourism development planning is mainly based on the
supply side, that is the resources available in the region. However, due to the increase
of competition and the demanding tourists more comprehensive planning base
involving the demand side, i.e. expectations of the visitors are becoming of equally
important for the success of the tourism planning itself.
Tourism plays a significant role for societies’ economic growth. One of the
cultural components becoming a tourist attraction is the local craft. Tourists often
complain whereas the local arts presented and offered are monotonous or no
changes. This case then rises co-modification in all aspects of life including in
tourism for the purpose of maximum profit.
Based on the result of this research, it is recommended to the management of
tourism in Bali site to maximize promotion and sales of the available tourism
products; government particularly Department of Tourism to issue a policy ruling
Bali site as an ecotourism object. Travel agencies to be more active in promoting the
ecotourism object in order to be world-widely known; and local societies shall
increase the quality of human resource in order to be able to work at Bali ecotourism
object.
