Bentik Foraminifera Pada Core Sedimen Terkontaminasi Minyak Mentah Di Perairan Laut Dumai
The study on benthic foraminifera was conducted from 8 to 9 April 2011
in Dumai marine waters. This study aims to observe the relationship between
benthic foraminifera with a high content of crude oil in marine sediment cores in
Dumai. The method used in the field was survey method. The samples were taken
from 12 cm depth and divided into five layers from the surface of the sample at a
depths of 0-1 cm, 3-4 cm, 6-7 cm, 9-10 cm and 11-12 cm, the number of the
analyzed volume of each layer was 2 cc.
The results of analysis between the number of benthic foraminifera
individuals with the sediment content of crude oil showed a relationship of Y = -
27.69 + 19621x. Correlation coefficient (r) was equal to 0.80, while the
determination coefficient (R2) was 0.639. The results of regression analysis
between the number of species of benthic foraminifera with the content of crude
oil showed a relationship of Y = 729.7 + 22183x. Correlation coefficient (r) was
equal to 0.865, while the value of determination coefficient (R2) is 0.747
