Analisis Logam Berat di Perairan Pantai Pulau Singkep Kepulauan Riau
JAMALUS ISHAK, NIM. 1110247234. Analysis of Heavy Metals in Singkep Island Coastal Waters Riau Archipelagos, Supervised by Bintal Amin and Thamrin.
Analysis of heavy metals content of Cu, Pb and Zn in seawater, sediment and snails (C. obtusa) in Singkep Island coastal waters Riau Archipelagos has been conducted on 28 November 2013 - 5 Januari 2014. All water quality parameters measured were still within tolerable limits for the survival of the aquatic organisms. Samples of sea water, sediment and snails (C. obtusa) were taken from five stations with three replicates at each station. Heavy metals were analyzed in the KLH laboratory Pekanbaru by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Shimadzu AA-7000. The results showed that the average content of heavy metals in seawaters was 0.0724 mg/L (Cu), 0.1285 mg/L (Pb) and 0.1152 mg/L (Zn), in the sediment was 10,7513 μg/g (Cu), 25.7750 μg/g (Pb) and 34.1493 μg/g (Zn) and the snail 72.2774 μg/g (Cu), 171.0904 μg/g (Pb) and 124.5110 μg/g (Zn). Based on the size, heavy metals content in the small snail was found 79.4700 μg/g (Cu), 182.2440 μg/g (Pb) and 131.9150 μg/g (Zn), medium size 72.5923 μg/g (Cu), 175.1397 μg/g (Pb) and 128.1163 μg/g (Zn), large size 64.7700 μg/g (Cu), 155.8877 μg/g (Pb), 113.5017 μg/g (Zn). Linear regression analysis between heavy metals in the water and heavy metals in snails, between heavy metals in sea water and heavymetals in sediment and between heavy metals in the sediments with snail showed a weak negative correlations, except for Pb which showed very weak positive correlation. Based on the size of the snail, weak negative relationships were found for all metals analysed. The contents of Cu and Zn in the snail were still below the standard value set by the Directorate General of Health Office POM RI No.03725/B/SK/1989 for human consumption, whilst for Pb already passed the threshold. Calculated Provisional Tolerable Weekly Intake (PTWI) for the snail were as follows: for Cu 13.65 kg/week, Pb 0,041 kg/week and Zn 7.87 kg/week. The average value of Pollution Load Index (PLI) in the Singkep Island waters was 0.5187 (PLI < 1) which indicated low pollution status of Singkep Island coastal waters.
