Uji Beberapa Konsentrasi Ekstrak Tepung Buah Sirih Hutan (Piper Aduncum L.) Untuk Mengendalikan Ulat Grayak (Spodoptera Litura F.) Pada Tanaman Kedelai
Soybean (Glycine max L.) is a source of vegetable protein that are needed by living things and forms the basis of a variety of processed products. Armyworm (Spodoptera litura F.) is one of the major pests of soybean. Control efforts made by farmers during this general use of synthetic insecticides. Reducing of impacts caused by synthetic insecticides, hence the need for an alternative in S. litura control techniques, such as the use of plant-based insecticide derived from the fruit of the forest betel (Piper aduncum L.). This study aims to obtain a concentration of fruit extracts Piper aduncum are effective for controlling S. litura on soybean plants. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Pest and Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, in January to March 2016. This research experiment used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which consists of 5 treatments and each treatment was repeated four times, in order to obtain 20 experimental units. Each unit of experiment infested 10 of S. litura instar 3. The treatment consists of several concentration of Piper aduncum’s fruit powder extract which is as follows: 0 g/l of water, 25 g/l of water, 50 g/l of water, 75 g/l of water and 100 g/l of water. The results showed that the concentration of 100 g/l of water is able to provide the fastest time to kill 50% of S. litura with a time of 45.75 hours and total mortality reached 82.5%.
